The Best Amazon Spring Fashion For Busy Moms

This list of the 2021 Best Amazon Spring Fashion for Moms was probably the most fun Favorite Things List I’ve done so far. Mostly because it required a lot of ordering and “your package is 10 stops away” notifications and eye rolls from Jeff who was all “are you really doing this for research?’ (insert skeptical eye roll here) moments that gave me all the feels of a woman on a life-changing makeover shopping spree that only happens in the movies.

Or in other words, I felt kind of like a non-hookery Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman minus the Richard Gere.

But also because I know how hard it is as a busy woman just coming off the heels of a pandemic where we got maybe a little bit too accustomed to living in our sweatpants, to find the time to go to the mall or the latest boutique to rebuild a workable yet fashionable wardrobe, yet I also know how much we want a clean start, a refresh that will wipe 2020 off of the slate and help us start fresh. To add to this feeling of uncertainty and lack of time, I also know hard it is to shop on Amazon. Because, let’s face it, one minute you’re typing in “dresses for women” and the next you’re greeted with a skintight bandage-like thing that borders on pornographic. I get it. It’s not easy.

So, that being said, in this new gig of mine where I’m sharing my Must Have’s with you (don’t worry, a new recipe is coming Friday so I haven’t abandoned the food altogether), I decided to roll up my sleeves and get my ordering finger trigger ready to do the legwork for you. I didn’t go in blind, of course, first I decided to take a trip down the confusing aisles of the Pinterest fashion influencer scene, which requires its own special brand of know-how and patience, to check out what all the cool girls are talking about. Then, I decided to narrow down from there and created my own criteria (comfortable, versatile, flattering) in an attempt to nail down what I want my spring style to look like and what I feel like you, my dear BurntToast, readers will find accessible, fashionable, and age-appropriate.

Then I started shopping.

Not everything I ordered was a winner. I returned those and you will never ever hear about them unless I take it upon myself to create a list of worsts. Some were good but not something I would wear daily. Those also didn’t make the cut because I want this list to be accessible, bordering on capsule wardrobe building blocks for you and for me. But the ones I kept, I can already see creeping into my must-haves not just for spring, but for seasons to come. And this is a list of the keepers, the things I’ve already started wearing and incorporating into my life for a fresh new 2021 Pandemic no-more ME.

I hope you find something here to make you feel beautiful and fresh. I hope you trust me enough to click “ORDER NOW” and find yourself with a new must-have piece that brings freshness to your closet. And most of all, dear friends, I hope you realize you are worth beautiful things. Because you are.

  1. Babydoll Swing Dress: As a child of the 90s I am no stranger to the babydoll dress. In fact, I’m sure there is an embarrassing picture of me somewhere with Doc Martens, a babydoll dress over a t-shirt, daisy hair clips, and lips outlined in dark brown liner. Don’t laugh. It was a thing. But this babydoll dress is one my 40-something self can get behind. Incredibly soft and breathable, not to mention forgiving, this dress is a complete transition piece. Pair it with booties and a jean jacket when temps are cooler (I did last night for a girl’s dinner and loved every second of it) and then with wedges or sandals when it warms up. I love this one so much I might grab it in another color just to have a few on hand. Find it HERE.

  2. Button-Front Tank: This tank is all over the Pinterest fashion scene. Fashion bloggers sing its praises high and low. And while I’m a natural skeptic when something is overrated, this one lives up to its own hype. I love how versatile and flattering it is, pairing well with everything from spring skirts (more on this to come) to jeans. It’s forgiving for ladies with, ahem, larger ladies and the straps are adjustable, which is a bonus for me since most straps tend to fall off my shoulders. This is another one I might grab in more colors because I love it so much. It’s a staple I see getting a lot of use this summer. Grab yours HERE.

  3. Skater Skirt: This is another Pinterest Fashion Blogger darling and if I’m being honest with you, I was 99% convinced I would hate it in person. First of all, I just didn’t think I was the “skater skirt” kinda gal and secondly, it looked a little cheap in the picture (though arguably that could be the weird pairing with a shirt bra thing on the model). I was pleasantly surprised with this one, though. Another great transition piece, this skirt looks great with a white tee and a jean jacket for now but will pair really well with the button tank and wedges in the summer. It’s very lightweight and possibly a little sheer (I ordered color T3 which is a beige polka dot) so I would maybe choose a darker color, but otherwise, it’s a perfect spring skirt. And while I don’t go in for the trend-thing, this is very much “IN” right now, so there’s always that going for it. Get yours HERE.

  4. Vince Camuto Espadrilles: I have determined, in my middle age, that my legs look better with a little lift. Yes, I love my Converse and my flat sandals. Yes, they are more comfortable. But, no, they aren’t necessarily the best when it comes to flattering my legs. But finding the perfect summer wedge that isn’t too high or uncomfortable is easier said than done. These Vince Camuto espadrilles fit the bill after a long and arduous search. They are not too high so as to look like I’m trying too hard when I’m really just running to Target and they are comfortable right from the start. As an added bonus I don’t clomp walk when I wear them, which is hard for me to do in an espadrille or wedge so these must be spinning some extra shoe magic. I am a neutral shoe girl because I like to maximize my use so I grabbed these in Tan but if you’re a little more daring than me they have some cute patterns and colors to choose from. Grab yours HERE.

  5. Denim Jacket: There is no season where my denim jacket gets more love than spring. First of all, because Texas spring weather is a little bit psycho and you never know what the temp is going to do within a 12-hour span of time. But also because it’s the perfect weight to cover up your tanks and tees when it’s chilly outside without being too heavy. I have always had great luck with the Amazon brand Goodthreads and this jacket is no exception. I always opt for the medium wash when it comes to my jackets but am considering the dark wash too just to have some variety. I always size up in jackets to accommodate any heavier shirts so you might want to go for one size up as well. Grab yours HERE.

  6. Paperbag Shorts: Paperbag shorts have been around for a season or two but this is the first time I’ve jumped on board and I’ve got to say, I’m here for this trend. It’s easy, comfortable (two words: elastic waist), and looks dressier than plain old denim. I love how light and airy they are, which in Texas summer heat is imperative, and they dress up any look just a bit beyond traditional shorts. I can’t wait to pair these with a plain white tee, fedora, and wedges for an easy “I’m running to Target but don’t want to look like a slub” look that takes almost no effort. Grab them HERE.

  7. Terry Jumpsuit: It almost hurts me to include another jumpsuit on this list. I know we’ve been rocking this look maybe a little bit more than we are comfortable with because of the pandemic and all. But we still can’t argue with the fact that they are comfortable, easy, and can go dressy or casual depending on how you accessorize them. This makes them incredible chameleons in your closet that cannot be ignored. I love this one because it’s TERRY cloth. Like, maybe the most wonderful soft sweatshirt material ever made hugging your whole body. It’s flattering and can be worn as athleisure wear around the house or throw on a jean jacket and some slides for errands. Either way, this Daily Ritual jumpsuit is going to be on repeat in my life this spring and I know if you grab one it will be in yours too. Grab it HERE.

  8. Side Ruched Dress: This dress is solid gold Pinterest Viral and with good reason. It looks good on EVERYONE. That side ruching? It’s like a gift straight from heaven for women everywhere, hiding a multitude of sins and creating confidence where confidence might be lacking. The original viral version was actually a dress from Nordies, but from what I’ve read this one is more beloved because it is lined. Which, ladies, y’all know how important that is, right? Anyway, I have the short sleeve version in navy blue and have worn it for date nights or just errands around town. Another versatile piece, it’s worth a grab for those days when you want to look your absolute best but want a little extra help from the clothes you put on. Just FYI–I ordered a Medium and a Small just to compare and while the fit was nearly identical the Medium was a bit longer so I went with it. I recommend sizing up if you want to ensure you’ve got the length to feel comfortable and confident. Grab yours HERE.

  9. GoodThreads V-Neck Tee: It’s no secret to the world that I am a t-shirt girl. In fact, there was a time where that way my uniform and I very rarely strayed from it. Now I’m trying to up my game a bit because 1) I want to just look a little more put together on the reg and 2) I want to reconnect with that part of me that worked in fashion for years before kids. But no amount of change will ever take away my love of t-shirts and these V-necks from GoodThreads are a newfound fave for sure. I love the roll sleeve detail and feel like it gives them a tiny bit of tailoring to elevate them beyond a plain white tee (not the band). These are soft and wash really well, too, which is a bonus. And for me, the v is the perfect flattering depth, not too low and not too high. This is a staple piece I recommend grabbing in a few colors. I snagged the grey stripe and am heading back for a white and a black soon. Grab yours HERE.

I’d love to hear your Amazon favorites so I can add to this list. Let me know what I missed or what you’d like to see next time on My Favorite Things.

Peace, love, and wardrobes,

Meg
