Why I LOVE Grove Collaborative

why i love grove collaborative

Because there is a very stubborn anti-establishment side of me, I have avoided going down this wormhole for YEARS. As a blogger/influencer/whatevertheheckIam, I tend to avoid the brands that every other blogger/influencer/internetfamouspeople promotes. I don’t go after them because they seem like low-hanging fruit AND I have an inbred distrust of anything that many attention grabbers are promoting.

This is not fair and I am missing out on some incredible brands, I know this.

But Grove Collaborate. They GOT me right in my heart because they care about the Earth as much as I do. So in the interest of embracing my inner hippie, I thought I would give them a try And this, dear friends, is the story of

WHY I love Grove Collaborative.

It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that despite living in Texas and being married to a Conservative accountant, I have a secret inner hippie that cannot be hidden.

I have always had a bleeding heart and a heart for the misfits, the oppressed, the underdogs, and the disenfranchised. I have always had this urge to help and support those who cannot help themselves. I am more at home in natural places where fixing your hair and wearing makeup is optional (hello, California), and I have always, and I mean ALWAYS had a desire to do every single thing I can to nurture the earth.

If I had to trace this back to its roots, I would drop the credit for this selfless desire right on my momma’s shoulders. She was the OG Earth Mom. At least to me. She made our baby food before it was cool to make baby food (something I did for all three kids as well). She had us wear cloth diapers even though the much more convenient and much less gross disposable ones had just come en vogue (I did NOT do that for mine). She breastfed when bottles were the thing. And she stayed home for most of our childhood when the women’s lib movement was doing its best to tell women not to (more on that some other time).

We lived in the country and she had a huge garden in the back until the time when she went to work full-time and couldn’t give it the time it needed any longer. She was a home cook. A vegetable canner. A from-scratch, eat-your-veggies kind of mom. And this somehow seeped deep into my bones and being, like asbestos. But not deadly.

This has manifested itself in my life with the deep-seated drive I have to do my best to give back and make the world a better place. When the kids were young, I took my first unsuccessful stab at urban gardening and have big plans to give it another go this year. I make almost everything from scratch if I can. I eat vegan most of the time. And I am an obsessed plant mom.

The one area, though, that I’ve always struggled with being clean is with my actual cleaning products. Ironic, I know.

So the incredible marketing from Grove had me feeling all kinds of guilty as I was spraying my Mr. Clean with Bleach all over the counters and throwing disposable plastic container after disposable plastic container away. Fed up with the chemicals yet skeptical that natural products would actually clean to my liking, I cautiously gave Grove a try because of the incredible Choose Your Free Gift Set Offer that is just too good to pass up.

(Seriously, it’s too good to pass up. So click on this link, friends.)

When my giant box of Grove products arrived I was giddy. It was all so pretty. The spray bottles, all-glass, no plastic, with gorgeous silicone sleeves. The tiny bottles of cleaner concentrate you mix with water to get your full product. The natural sponges. The carrying caddy. And the re-usable European paper towels, which happen to be my favorite of the entire set (I highly recommend).

They are all gorgeous. But do they actually CLEAN?

Y’all…YES. They really do.

Now, I am not one to voluntarily clean anything. I let dust bunnies pile up in corners until they are big enough to follow me around the room. I consider my kitchen a “working space,” not a “cleaning space,” and treat it accordingly. And I am generally more prone to ignoring the mess rather than cleaning the mess.

This certainly is something that Jeff, my OCD hubby, did not realize when he signed on to marry me. Good thing we’re 15 years in and it’s too late for me. (I kid. I kid.)

But after this Grove came into my life, I actually cleaned. My stove, which is normally caked over with food and spill-over residue is now spotless. My counters are no longer littered with crumbs and hot chocolate stains. The Dial soap that probably has enough anti-bacterial chemicals to strip our hands raw has been replaced with the kinder gentler Grove soap in a gorgeous glass bottle. why i love grove collaborative

I can’t EVEN with this stuff.

Friends, this is an easy swap you can make in your own home to start your inner hippie journey. Heck, you can even make this if you have ZERO desire to be an inner (or outer) hippie, but would really love to use cleaning products that work but don’t kill you with fumes as they do. The ordering process is super easy, delivery was fast, and I love the concept of the monthly replenish, especially since I already have my eye on quite a few additions to my cleaning arsenal. (I’m coming for you, microfiber cloths. You can’t hide.)

If you use my link (affiliate), you can receive a FREE Gift Set with your starter purchase. Trust me, this is something you don’t want to miss out on. My gift set included the caddy and two glass bottles. All three of which are keys to re-invigorating my cleaning arsenal. I’ve also linked some of my absolute favorites from my first set below, just to make it easier for you to grab some key items to help you on your way to a greener and cleaner life.

I know not all of us have it in them to be an inner hippie. But this is a no-brainer. It’s better for our homes. It’s better for our families. And it’s better for the Earth. So go with it. And let me know how it works for you. I love when you share your stories with me.

My Favorite Grove Products:

  • The European Towels: If you get only one thing, get these. They have replaced my paper towel usage almost exclusively and give a much better clean. Dishwasher and washing machine safe, you get two in a pack so you can clean one and use the other as you go. A definite must-have to keep the paper towels out of the landfills!
  • The All-Purpose Cleaner: This little concentrated bottle is deceiving. You add it to the glass spray bottle, fill the rest with filtered water, and have a full bottle of eco-friendly cleaner that really works. It cleaned off the existing scum that nothing was getting out on my stovetop and smells like a dream. A great starter product because it cleans all things!
  • The Glass Spray Bottle: You need this for the All-Purpose Cleaner (and multiples as you add the other cleaners into your life). Pretty. Safe. NOT plastic. What’s not to love?
  • Grove Dishwashing Soap: This aluminum bottle is filled with the biggest bubble-making dish soap I’ve ever seen. It smells dreamy and cleans like my industrial-strength (yet not safe) Dawn. A great place to start because we all use dish soap (and mostly in plastic bottles)!
  • The Dishwashing Soap Dispenser: Just like the spray bottle, it’s a pretty countertop dispenser for the dishwashing soap. Oh, and did I mention it was pretty?
  • The Bubble Up: This looks like a toy, but it’s actually a great little cleaning tool to have on hand. It creates great bubbles for cleaning dishes and scrubs really well. Oh, and it looks pretty on the counter next to the soap dispenser.

Peace, love, and CLEAN cleaning,
