what i'm digging wednesday 5.26

Hey, friends. Welcome to What I’m Digging Wednesday 5.26. This “First week of summer” edition is filled with some warm-weather tricks and treats everyone is sure to love. From the easy-peel pads that keep my skin summer ready, an ice cream maker for all of your sweet dessert desires, the best flip flops on earth and an IG account you need to follow for incredible movie reviews.

This is a fun one inspired by this first week of summer break, even if it has rained every single day and we are basically drowning in puddles. Still, we can see the sun on the horizon. Right? Right.

what I'm digging wednesday 5.26

  1. Pixie Glycolic Peel Pads: Glycolic Acid is a skincare BFF. It exfoliates evenly and deeply. It helps stimulate collagen. It helps even skin tone and lightens acne and age spots. It is good for breakouts and fine lines. It is a multi-tasker hero product, and these little pads bring all of these benefits and the spa-like feel of a facial peel right to your very own bathroom. You simply swipe the pad over your face after washing in the evening. Leave it on for a minute or two while you brush (and floss) your teeth. Then rinse with cool water. Follow up with moisturizer and go to bed. So simple. I use them about 2-3 times a week and love how soft and even my skin feels and looks the next day. Perfect if you’re about to throw on some sunless tanner or bronzer the next day and need an even palate. These babies are a steal too, so grab your pot and get started on your summer skin journey today. Grab them HERE.

  2. Cinetastic Movie Reviews: So here’s the deal, everyone who knows me knows I am way more of a book person than a movie one. I would much rather curl up with a good novel than stress myself out trying to find a movie that works for both Jeff and me, and I don’t like wasting my time on films that don’t live up to their hype. That’s where my internet BFF Cinetastic Reviews comes in. If you’re looking for the same regurgitated movie reviews of popular films everyone goes to see (I’m looking at you Marvel movies), this is not for you. But, if you want thoughtful, well-written, and in-depth reviews of films of all kinds, especially smaller films you would otherwise not know about, this is the IG account you need to follow. She puts her whole heart into every single review and has turned me on to so many incredible movies I would normally just skip over (Nomadland, Minari, Mank). Her character analysis is spot-on, probably because in RL she is a psychologist, and she really feels each film, which is apparent in her writing. Not to mention, she totally nailed her Oscar picks, so there is that. Definitely worth a follow for movie buffs and non. She’ll open you up to new films and help you find hidden gems you wouldn’t normally choose. Follow her HERE.

  3. Rainbow Sandals: Rainbow Sandals have a special place in my heart because they are made in San Clemente, California, where Jeff and I lived before we moved to Texas. But beyond that, they are truly amazing sandals. Built with a California surfer sensibility these sandals go the LONG haul with you and look good doing it. Constructed with a special form of sponge rubber with real fabric straps, they are made to be worn, take a beating, and get better with age. The rubber molds to your foot and the strap doesn’t stretch out over time, keeping your foot more secure than your average flip flop, making them more stable on uneven ground and, most importantly, sand. If you buy a pair of Rainbows, you will have them for years. They’re good-looking, sturdy and a wearable piece of California aesthetic. I lost my treasured pair years ago, somewhere between San Clemente and Texas, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’m about to go grab me another pair to wear all summer long. No matter where you live, you need a pair of Rainbows in your life. You will thank me for years to come. Grab yours HERE.

  4. Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker: There is nothing more quintessentialy summer than a giant ice cream cone filled with homemade ice cream. At least for my kids, there isn’t. And this Ice Cream maker has gone the distance for us. We’ve made pretty much every basic flavor in this thing and I’m about to branch out and get a little crazy with my ice cream profiles. I can’t wait to bring you some incredible recipes (starting with basic vanilla so mouth-watering you won’t need to add one single topping) but want you to grab something to make them in first. This is an economical home ice cream maker that doesn’t take up too much counter or cabinet space. It’s easy to use and churns out some gorgeously creamy treats. Definitely grab yours HERE before I start dropping my recipes. You’ll be glad you did.

Thank you for stopping by for this week’s What I’m Digging Wednesday 5.26. This was a warm-weather extravaganza and I am so excited to bring you more summer finds in the next few weeks. As always, keep the recommendations coming. I love sharing your small businesses and products so don’t hesitate to DM me so we can get your stuff promoted!

Peace, love, and Wednesdays,

Meg
