What I’m Digging Wednesday 3.23

what i'm digging wednesday 3.23

Good morning and happy Wednesday, friends! This time last week I was on my way to East Texas ready to chaperone 9 girls on a major camp adventure. Even though I’m still recovering and my body is all “oh no you didn’t,” it was the time of my life and when Kenzie said “I’m so glad you came with me on this trip,” it about made my day, week, month, AND year. So it was totally worth it. But now I’m back and ready to share another great selection of awesome things in What I’m Digging Wednesday 3.23.

Are you ready?

I sure hope so. Because it’s a good one I don’t want you to miss!

what i'm digging wednesday 3.23

  1. Gift Box Social: When we, as chaperones of this lovely fifth grade trip, received our cabin assignments and lists of campers, I was so excited that the group of girls we had were the best. They were all, to a T, kind and sweet and no-dram, which made the whole trip so much easier. However, I was doubly excited once I realized that one of our sweet camper’s moms is part-owner of Gift Box Social, a local Frisco personalization and customization company. Which meant, in the long run, that we had the most amazing shirts and hats of all the camp. (see our awesome hat in the pic below) That’s right. Gift Box Social decked us out in the best of the best, and we looked and felt like a united cabin every day of camp. Not going to camp? Don’t worry. Gift Box Social does so much more. They’ve also done team shirts for my kids, they do personalized koozies and glasses, and everything and anything you can think of that needs a custom vinyl decal. They’re your girls! Whether you’ve got a team event or a business outing, hit them up for all of your customizing needs. They’re amazing, local, and woman-owned too! Follow them on social HERE and HERE and save their website for ordering! what i'm digging wednesday 3.23

  2. Bamboo 7-Tier Plant Stand: Y’all know, based on my inner hippie push and my social media, that I have become quite the plant lady. I have plants outside and plants inside. I have plants in cute container and I have plants in old dingy pots waiting to be repotted. I’ve got it all! But what I didn’t have, much to organized Jeff Dawson’s chagrin, was any order or organization to them. I had them on windowsills, dressers, and the floor. They were EVERYWHERE. And, after a long time of sitting on these various non-plant approved places, they were starting to do some damage, especially to the wood parts. So this weekend I decided to get my act together and organize them in one space, curiously known as “plant town” in the corner of our bedroom. That’s where this awesome shelf comes in. I found it on Amazon and it was really well priced, especially for something like this which required more function that looks (the plants take care of that part). It was easy to put together, relatively, even for someone who didn’t quite know which side of the nut goes in. (ie: me). After much eye-rolling on Jeff’s part and a bout of giggles on my own, this baby was up and loaded with gorgeous plants in abundance. It makes me so happy to look at this special little corner that I will probably end up getting one for my office as well. Either way, for plant-lovers like myself, this is a great, functional piece which allows you to organize and spotlight your green beauties without spending an arm and a leg to do so. I highly recommend it. Grab yours HERE.

  3. The TROOP Foundation Tee: Now, if you’re a WIDW follower, you probably know a little bit about how much I love this brand when I shared it a few weeks ago with their gorgeous Refine Hoodie Dress (still one of my faves, y’all). BUT, the fact remains that I love this entire sustainable and functional brand. The pieces are ALL top quality and feel like butter against your skin. I simply adore them and think everyone needs to be following along on the TROOP bus. Anyway, the reason why I’m sharing this shirt is because it came in the clutch at camp last week. When we left, the forecast had the temps in the mid to high 70s the entire three days. But, as she often does, Mother Nature had other plans and decided to throw in some nice and windy 40 degrees with high winds on the last day. I was not prepared for this and did not pack accordingly. Except, at the very last moment I threw in my long-sleeve TROOP tee. Friends, this tee saved my freezing behind that day. These tees are soft as butter, but also made of a thicker 90% recycled poly 10% spandex and made to hug close to the body to keep you warm during cold weather. So not only are they sustainable, but they are functional and made to keep you warm. For camp, I had the olive green long-sleeve tee, which is my favorite for walking the dog on cold spring days. BUT, given that we’re bound to warm up sooner or later I’m sharing the short sleeve tee so you can wear it long term. For real, these pieces are worth the investment and I highly recommend them (and if you haven’t picked up a dress, do it now, too!). So grab yours today. Their leggings are butter soft and warm, too. All in all, an amazing brand!

  4. Some Place Under Neith Podcast: **Warning: This is NOT for everyone and this podcast talks about some seriously disturbing things like sexual abuse, physical abuse, and violence.** I am in my car a lot…between carpool and general errands and running around town, I am always sitting in the drivers seat, wishing I was somewhere else. To make things easier, I often listen to podcasts while I am sitting and waiting. Knowing this my friend Megan recommended I start listening to this podcast and y’all, I am HOOKED. Now, as a forewarning, this is a true crime-esque podcast manned by two wickedly funny and wry women who tend to err on the side of feminism. Given my own super secret feminism and somewhat off-color sense of humor, they fit me like a glove. But, some may find both the commentary (which can veer to the side of anti-religion) and the content off-putting. This is not the show for you if you think you will. But for true crime loving feminist or people who like to probe deeply into the way patriarchial cult-like religions are breeding grounds for all sorts of abuse, this is for you. I love it because I will laugh out loud at these women during even hard and difficult content because they are wicked and poignant and fearless. Definitely not for everyone, but for the ones it’s for, it’s really for. It’s avialble on Apple Podcasts and anywhere else you listen to your daily earworms.

Thanks for coming along on this WIDW. I love this little section of the blog and it makes me happy you do too.

Also, if you’re on the fence about joining the Outfit Formulas Spring Capsule Wardrobe, please tip yourself off that fence and join me. We start styling on March 28th so I’m really hoping to see as many BurntToast followers there as possible. Join HERE and let me know once you have so I can help you along as you get started!

Peace, love, and Wednesdays,
Meaghan
