What I’m Digging Wednesday 6.9

what i'm digging wednesday 6.9

Hey Friends! Welcome to What I’m Digging Wednesday 6.9. In this fun little segment, we explore the various quirky, weird, and sometimes downright cool things I’m digging each week. You never know what is going to end up on this list and nothing is off-limits. So here’s to hoping you’re about to find something new to love.

This week we’ve got a more affordable one-piece (for my budget-conscious friends who won’t splurge on the Sumersalt I posted a few weeks back), a skin tone correcting serum that I am convinced might be a straight-up miracle, my favorite summer sneaks, and the local Spa you’ve got to visit for an all-encompassing self-care day.

And one quick note before we begin: I’m taking next week off of WIDW because I’m finally, after two long years, taking a trip back East to see my family. I know you will miss this segment dearly so I’m hoping you can enjoy scrolling through some of the older WIDW posts to find some new-to-you favorites you might have missed. Enjoy and I’ll see you in two weeks!

what i'm digging wednesday 6.9

  1. Vans Rainbow Slip-On Sneakers: Now you all know I love me some sneakers. I live in my Addidas during the winter months and have been known to sport my Converse year-round. But when we took a trip up to the Vans Outlet in Allen, TX to grab our kids some summer Vans, I couldn’t resist these little rainbow slip-ons for myself. I love that they’re easier and lighter than my leather Addidas for summer days. I love that they slip on and off. And, maybe most of all, I love how bright and rainbow-y they are. No matter how grumpy you might be, looking at a colorful checkerboard on your feet is sure to cheer you up. Grabs these at the outlet if you’re local or on Amazon if you’re not.

  2. SkinBetter EVEN Tone Correcting Serum: This past Friday my father-in-law treated my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and myself to the most amazing spa day at the Grand Spa (see below) for a belated post-pandemic Mother’s Day treat. It was an incredible day of pampering, self-care, and relaxation. We got massages, pedicures, and facials, and, honestly, aside from the fact that we’re not millionaires, I sort of felt like a Kardashian-level celebrity. During the facial, I asked my esthetician about these pesky dark marks that have popped up on my cheeks following post-pandemic acne as well as a few too many moments in the sun over the years. I normally have great skin but these marks, mostly due to age, make me very self-conscious. And while there is no fast-fix, the dermaplane and peel she applied helped and I will be going back in the fall for follow-up post-summer sun exposure and the damage that it can do. But most of all, she recommended this EVEN Serum from Skinbetter. And while it is very pricey and a total splurge, I am so impressed with how it’s already helped perfect the overall tone of my skin. The marks, while still there, are fading, and my skin has more clarity and even tone than when I began using it, just 5 days ago. If you struggle with hyperpigmentation and dark marks, this is a serum worth investing in. I highly recommend it. Grab yours HERE or, better yet, visit the spa (see below) to schedule a facial.

  3. Grand Spa: For our special Mother’s Day spa retreat we went to The Grand Spa in Dallas, right at Beltline and the Tollway. Friends, stop what you’re doing right now and go schedule a service there, will ya? I mean, it was a delight from beginning to end. The massage was so good (Melissa was my masseuse) that I had to keep reminding myself to Stay Present and enjoy every second, mostly because I was floating above my body in a sort of out-of-body experience of pleasure. It was amazing. The pedicure, one of the best I’ve ever had, and our nail techs were the sweetest duo and team. They were a pleasure. And finally, my facial. Well, I can’t wait to go back. I believe my esthetician was Tarin (I could be wrong on this) but she was amazing. She recommended dermaplane and a peel to get help to lessen my dark sunspots and old acne scars and was just a joy to work with. The products she recommended (see above) have been a dream and I walked away feeling “glow-y.” Which, of course, is the whole point of a facial, right. Schedule your services ASAP. You will not regret it.

  4. Cupshe Ruffle One-Piece Suit: A few weeks ago I recommended the Summersalt Sidestroke swimsuit for women of a certain age who want to still look sexy and classy in their swimsuits without looking SEXY and KLASSY in their swimsuits. And while I LOVE that suit still, I know that some people just don’t have it in them to drop $100 on a seasonal bathing suit. So I did some more digging to find a more budget-friendly one-piece option for you. This Cupshe did not disappoint. The ruffles add a feminine touch to the otherwise deep-v neck, which is deep but not too deep to be indecent. It is a little cheeky but still offers fair coverage and the ruching across the stomach is so very flattering to anyone worrying about their tummy area. I love it in classic black and think it is such a great buy for the price. I’m still on a search for my favorite summer two-piece so keep your eyes open for that post, but in the meantime, grab your new favorite Cupshe one piece HERE.

Thank you again for all of the love and support of this fun little feature! I can’t wait to come back in two weeks with an extra special BEST-OF WIDW post with all of the fan favorites I’ve shared over these past few months. Stay warm and happy summer, friends!

Peace, love, and Wednesday,
Meg
