what I'm digging wednesday 1.26

Hey Friends, welcome to What I’m Digging Wednesday 1.26. The series where I share the weird and quirky things I’ve been digging.

Last week’s WIDW was a huge hit and people are really loving the Olive and June nail kit. So much so that I’m planning on doing an IG Live (you should 100% be following me if you’re not) to break down what you get in the kit and also did a timelapse video of my Sunday self-care manicure process I’ll be sharing soon too.

So much goodness, so little time.

Anyway, this week is another fun one with a very random set of items that make no sense when put together. But, hey, that’s the whole point of this series anyway. Right?

So here we go…

what i'm digging wednesday 1.26

  1. The Ember Self-Heating Mug: In full disclosure, this is not something I personally am digging. But rather something I purchased as a Christmas gift for Jeff that has made a huge difference for him. Because I feel as if many of you can relate to the particular dilemma this causes, I thought it was worth the share. Jeff is an all-day coffee drinker. Working from home makes this easier, but even when he was in the office, he sipped continually throughout the day. While he has been known to drink lukewarm coffee (gag), more often than not, he reheats it about once an hour in the microwave. I do not understand this, because reheated coffee is gross to me. But whatever, it’s not about me. As we have already established. To solve this problem (and because I am an amazing wife) I got him this mug and it has been a gamechanger. He keeps the charging “dock” in his office, pours once, and then heats it up from his phone as he goes throughout his day. To be honest, I’m not sure exactly the technology behind it or what voodoo magic makes it work. I just know that he LOVES it and also if you work in an office where the microwave is way far away but you’re an all-day sipper like him, you’re going to love this thing. A little pricey. But definitely worth the investment. Grab yours HERE.

  2. Vuori Performance Jogger Pants: One of the biggest benefits of the outfit formulas I have been raving about is that I am no longer just randomly buying things on a whim because I like them, only to toss them out after one wear because they don’t fit in my wardrobe. Instead, I am actively and consciously building a wardrobe, one I fill in as needed but also that works altogether as a unit. In the long run, I am positive this will save us money instead of the opposite. That being said, one hole I noticed in my wardrobe after my initial edit (something Alison recommends when you start making a capsule) was a pair of black jogger pants. I have never been much of a legging girl, using them only for working out and yoga, but I knew I wanted a pair of joggers I could use in place of black denim for travel days or for running around town while remaining comfy. So I asked my friend Megan and she was like “I’ve got the ones for you. Worth every bloody cent.” (we talk to each other like this all the time–we’re potty mouths). She was right. Y’all, these joggers are an investment. Coming in just under $90 they’re not giving them away. But oh my gosh, you feel like you are naked when you wear them, but not in an embarrassing way. They’re so comfortable yet look so nice and put together. The perfect length so you don’t look like you’re wearing your high school gym sweats, they are slightly cropped, deliciously soft, and flattering on the butt. (you know that matters). I loved them so much that I very quickly ordered a camo pair to replace the plaid in the capsule that I never got around to getting. If you are an athleisure gal, or just need to fill a wardrobe hole, I recommend these. (Also, they have men’s sizes too. Perfect for Father’s Day). Grab yours HERE.

  3. Beige Women’s Fedora: Another wonderful benefit of the outfit formula has been a resurrection of my hat obsession. Alison included this beige fedora in the winter capsule and y’all, it has reignited my passion for hats. Not only does a hat reduce the need for nice hair (can I get an amen on this, Sister!) but they also just truly help complete an outfit and take it to the next level. This particular hat is great because the brim isn’t so wide and dramatic so I feel weird wearing it out in public for my regular errands but it is also sturdy and dressier than a bucket hat or something of the like. It’s got a nice stiff brim and fits my head well. The only drawback I’ve noticed is that it’s rather snug on my head, which I don’t mind. But I have a small head so if it’s tight on me and you have a large noggin, it might not be a good fit. Literally. Anyway, hats for the win this winter and spring. So grab yours HERE.

  4. NYX Lip Liner in Peekaboo Neutral: This cost-effective little pencil from makeup super-brand NYX is the perfect dupe for the much more expensive Charlotte Tillbury Pillowtalk liner I shared in my latest Makeup Finds Post. At $4 a pop, these liners come in a huge variety of colors (I have about 5) and stay on all day. I got the tip about these from my hair goddess, Dani, who always looks amazing and somehow manages to keep her lips on all day long, even through multiple coffee runs. I asked her about this, because that’s what we do with our hair goddesses, and she graciously offered up her magic voodoo hack. Y’all, you can get these little liners anywhere and I highly recommend them. I love a neutral lip but also have a few darker colors, red and cherry are my faves, and these really do stay on all day. I throw it on with my very minimal make-up in the morning and reapply chapstick or balm throughout the day. I look polished and put together without all the fuss of constant mirror-checking applications. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. Definitely grab yours either at Target, Ulta or from Amazon HERE. You will not regret it.

Thank you so much for continually coming back again and again for this fun Wednesday segment. Finding things that I know you will love is one of my favorite adventures and I can’t wait to keep this series going!

Peace, love, and Wednesdays,
Meg
