What I’m Digging Wednesday 2.2

what i'm digging wednesday 2.2

Hey friends! Welcome to What I’m Digging Wednesday 2.2!

I’m excited about this one today because it’s got two of my favorite (and most requested) items from the outfit formulas I’ve been putting together thanks to GYPO AND because this little series has officially become the most viewed series on BurntToast! Each week this segment surpasses ALL other posts (with the exception of that Pinterest viral recipe for Thai Basil Meatballs). I’m not sure what makes this so popular or why you all trust me enough to listen to the weird quirky things I am digging. But that’s not the point.

The point is that you do. And that’s awesome to me.

SO…without any more chit-chat nonsense, here is this week’s list. I hope you all fall in love with it!

what i'm digging wednesday 2.2

  1. Kids Insulated Lunchbox Thermos: Just like last week’s Ember Mug, this is not necessarily something I personally am digging. However, it is a huge mother’s helper when it comes to packing lunches (one of my least favorite parenting chores) and Kenzie loves hers. This little thermos is the perfect size for a kid’s lunchbox. It has its own spoon which folds up neatly into the lid. And this sucker keeps food hot (or cold). It’s the best lunchbox gadget we’ve had in our family and I use it at least once a week for K. She is my kid who loves leftovers and loves variety, so if your child isn’t a sandwich lover but isn’t into school lunches, this might be a solution to a problem I know we’re not alone in having. If I know I’m packing leftover soup, chili or pasta, I pour some boiling water (from this kettle) into the body of the thermos and let it sit for 10 minutes while I pack the rest of her lunch. When the soup is heated up and ready, I pour the water out and pour the hot soup in. This little hack keeps the inside of the thermos at the perfect temp to maintain the heat of the soup and gives her a nice comforting meal at the school lunch table. Rumor has it this will also work with cold, but I haven’t tried that one yet. Available in three colors, this is a great lunchbox helper all moms can love. Grab yours HERE.

  2. Neutral Plaid Shacket: This Shacket is an unexpectedly polarizing piece. Without the GYPO outfit formulas, I would not have ventured into the shacket trend. It seemed too young. Too hip. Too oversized. For this 40-something lady. But, given that the shacket featured prominently in Alison’s winter formula I bit the bullet and jumped in feet first. Or arm first, as the case may be. Y’all, I fell in LOVE with the shacket. This one is a light flannel, not too heavy, which is perfect for Texas winters. But I know some of the other ladies in the group managed to find thicker ones, just in case you need them for your particular climate. I love the neutral colors, which fall within my color family, and how I can wear this as a cardigan/jacket/outer layer yet still feel hip. When I share pictures of my outfit formulas, this one almost invariably gets the most comments and requests for links, so here we go, I’m providing it. A cost-effective trend piece, I doubt it will stick around for seasons to come, but for this one, I am a big fan. Grab yours HERE. (Sizing note: It runs big so the small is a bit large on me. Might size down if possible)

  3. Women’s Cocoon Cardigan: This cardigan is another favorite from my GYPO outfit formula posts. Whenever I add it to a look and share it, whether within the group or on my social channels, invariably someone will DM me to ask where I got it. Y’all, it’s AMAZON, of course. I have it in grey but am considering grabbing it in the cream or coffee color as well. It is so soft and cozy I never want to take it off. It’s the perfect topper over leggings with a cute top, or as I have learned with the outfit formulas, it looks great with a button-down, jeans, and booties as well. A definite basic I can see myself wearing for years to come, it’s a great addition to any closet. Grab yours HERE.

  4. Grove Collaborative: OK. OK. I know I am beating a dead horse with this one since I just shared my unbiased review of Why I love Grove yesterday, but I honestly can’t get enough of this company and the products I received from them. This year I have made a vow to clean up my act and honor my inner hippie. I’ve always been a plant lover and major composter, but I want to take it a step further. I want to clean up our cleaning supplies, address our diet a bit more (though arguably it’s a lot easier to say MY diet on this one as my family is NOT on board for changes), and generally go greener than we have been. So when I received my first Grove box, I was excited yet somewhat skeptical. After all, a lot of “clean” cleaning products don’t actually clean. You feel me? Well, Grove did not disappoint. I am enamored with both the look of the cleaning set as well as the effectiveness. I went on a little cleaning spree right after unboxing, so much so that Kenzie said “uh-oh, momma’s obsessed…” And she was right, you know. Because I am. My favorites and MUST-HAVES for your first set? The Multi-Purpose Cleaner, The European Towels, The Dish Soap, The Glass Bottle, The Dish Soap Dispenser. In my next set, I’m going to expand my selection and will report back, but for now, all I have to say is Grove is worth the hype so even if you’re not a hippie in any way, I highly recommend checking them out. Use THIS LINK to get a free gift set with purchase on me!

I hope you fall in love and find a new favorite to dig in this week’s post, and, as always, send me your recommendations. I love trying out new things to share with my BurntToast fam and especially love it if it’s something from WITHIN my BurntToast fam. That’s the best part.

Peace, love, and Wednesdays,
Meg
